Guest Post

Here is our guest post from Kaylin, who talks about her TOP TEN favorite children’s books!
When I was young, my family’s book collection was small and seemed to be filled with rabbits: Pat the Bunny, The Runaway Bunny, Enid Blyton’s Brer Rabbit, and Goodnight Moon, which believe or not was published in 1947. For me, The Velveteen Rabbit stood out from age three to seven. This may have been partly due to its artistic renderings and length for a picture book; it gave me more time alone with my mom, curled up in a rocking chair on her lap. Other favorites included: Charlotte’s Web by E.B. Webb at age four, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss at age six, The Story of the Treasure Seekers by E. Nesbit at age eight, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Finn at age ten, Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans at age twelve, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott at age fourteen, and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, which I first read three times in junior high.
